Assist with Medication

Course Introduction

The Assist with Medication course is designed to develop the knowledge and understanding required to safely support clients with their medication in health, aged care, disability and community care environments.

Medication assistance is an important responsibility. Workers must understand their role, follow workplace policies and procedures, use appropriate medication-safety checks, maintain accurate records, and recognise when a situation needs to be reported or escalated.

This course introduces learners to the legal framework, medication terminology, safe handling and storage, common medication forms, the 10 rights of medication safety, self-administration support, documentation, and medication incident management.
